Abstract
In this paper we briefly review electronic properties of quantum well states in metallic films deposited on metallic substrates. We discuss the photoemission spectroscopy from QW states by addressing the questions of their energy, in-plane dispersion, dependence on supporting structure, hybridization with substrate bands, and many-body effects with accent on electron-phonon coupling.
