Abstract
Adsorption of SiPc(OH)2 on Sm/Si(1Â 1Â 1) interface is investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy. The Sm/Si(1Â 1Â 1) interface is known to induce a high number of 1D structures in the sub-monolayer Sm coverage. We show in this study, the possibility to use these pre-structured interfaces to generate at room temperature, a 1D molecular alignment on a semi-conductor substrate.
