Abstract

We study the probability density function of the statistical fluctuations of the intensity scattered by an aggregate freely floating in space and constituted by Rayleigh particles under the dipole approximation. Its evolution as a function of the optical properties of the particles (polarizability) and their separation distance is analyzed. Aggregate geometries with two and three particles will be considered. The influence of the multiple scattering effect on the statistics of the scattered intensity is especially studied.
