Abstract
â¢Carbon Quantum Dots were synthesized by hydrothermal treatment of citric acid.â¢CQDs exhibit HOMO LUMO levels suitable for the use as HTM in perovskite solar cells.â¢Devices with standard architecture FTO/TiO2/MAPI/HTM have been fabricated.â¢Power conversion efficiency of 3% has been obtained with CQDs based devices.
The use of carbon quantum dots (CQDs) in photovoltaic devices has not yet been fully explored. Herein, we report the use of CQDs in MAPI (methyl ammonium lead iodide) perovskite solar cells as a first attempt to implement this material in photovoltaic applications beyond its use as transparent conductive electrode.
