Abstract
Color-tunable upconversion luminescence of Gd2O3:Yb3+, Er3+ is achieved by controlling the doping concentration of Yb3+. The research of upconversion luminescence properties indicates that the blue shift coexists with the red shift for the main wavelength in the process of increasing the Yb3+ concentration. The blue shift depends on the thermal effect induced by Yb3+ sensitization, while the red shift is determined by the energy transfer between Yb3+(Er3+) and Er3+. Through depressing the thermal effect, an enhanced red shift of main wavelength is achieved.
