Abstract
We stabilized GdAG:Tb3+/Ce3+ by doping with significantly smaller Lu3+, and based which (Gd,Lu)AG:Tb3+/Ce3+ yellow phosphors were successfully developed in this work. It was shown that the emission intensity of new phosphors is almost identical to the well-known YAG:Ce3+, higher than LuAG:Ce3+ but have an appreciably red-shifted emission band that is desired for warm-white lighting. Another advantage of the (Gd,Lu)AG:Tb3+/Ce3+ new phosphor is that it has a much higher theoretical density and average atomic number than YAG:Ce3+, and is thus more suitable for scintillation applications.230
