Abstract
We analyzed the press releases of a ministry which oversees the Korean energy policy and identified the consistency between the press releases and the Korea Energy Master Plan (KEMP) regarding nuclear policies. As a result of the analysis, we have found that the nuclear power policies in the KEMP were very similar to the analysis result of the press releases of the same period. Furthermore, we analyzed the press release text corresponding to the period of the 3rd Korea Energy Master Plan (2018) and reviewed the policy issues to be raised. Textual materials reported by government ministries over specific industries, such as the energy sector, are related directly to the official policies of the industry sector. However, if the documents are massive, there is a limit to understanding the policy changes at a glance. There is also a problem that the way people interpret the text is different. Therefore the text mining has the advantage of being able to examine contents more objectively. This study is significant in that it looks at policy changes more efficiently and objectively through text mining of government press releases.
