Abstract
This paper aims to discuss the limitations of feedback systems as well as prevailing objective research on energy efficiency. These limitations are examined in a context of contemporary dwellers disconnection to nature's cycles. The incorporation of subjective issues on energy efficiency research is especially discussed through the work of the architecture scholar Jin Baek, the philosopher Tetsuro Watsusji and the architect Tadao Ando. The design of a Brazilian house exemplifies this discussion through a home automation and information systems associated with architectural features to enhance the attachment between dwellers and natural exterior.
