Abstract
The main purpose here is to study of the effect of different types of carbon nanotubes inserted into cement. Various mechanical quantities such as bulk modulus, shear modulus, plane stress modulus, Young's modulus, elastic constants, Poisson's ratio, as well as transversal and longitudinal sound velocities of 11Â Ã
tobermorite modified by carbon nanotube (CNT), were examined using the molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. We focused on five different types of CNT with different diameters and different chirality. Results show that carbon nanotube with a diameter of 2.351Â Ã
and chirality (zig-zag)has the best adhesion with 11Â Ã
tobermorite and gives the most important change to the mechanical properties of the new composite with a critical distance of ~2Â Ã
between C-S-H and CNT.
