Abstract
Enhanced water splitting performance arising from the Z-scheme band structure formation is achieved by the growth of vertically aligned CdS/CdO core/shell nanorods on FTO substrates via a solution based approach. By controlling CdO shell thickness, it is demonstrated that the space charge region plays a critical role in determining the photovoltages of core/shell electrodes having Z-scheme band structure.377
