Electrostatic-spraying an ultrathin, multifunctional and compact coating onto a cathode for a long-life and high-rate lithium-sulfur battery

An ultrathin and multifunctional polysulfide blocking layer (MPBL) that fully and compactly wraps the cathode of a lithium-sulfur battery is prepared by a one-step electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) technique. The produced thin but compact MPBL has high efficiency towards the polysulfide confinement, resulting in long cyclic life, and ensures high rate capability.335
