Abstract
Combining crystallinity engineering and cobalt substitution in freestanding MoS2 monolayers to achieve maximized synergistic activity for hydrogen evolution is demonstrated. It exhibits and excellent electrocatalytic activity for the hydrogen evolution reaction, and can also serve as an high efficient co-catalyst when loading on semiconductors for photocalytic hydrogen evoluiton.197
