Abstract
Chemically exfoliated MoS2 (ce-MoS2) has been demonstrated as excellent electrode material for capacitive deionization (CDI) technology. The large layer-to-layer space, 1 T phase and the abundant negative charges on the surface of ce-MoS2 sheets contribute significantly to the ion intercalation/transportation and electrostatic attraction of ion. As a result, both very high mass and volume specific ion removal capacities were achieved, which is especially useful for developing highly efficient CDI device with small volume and low cost in practical applications236
