Abstract
The effect of heat treatment with the aid of an alternating magnetic field (AMF) on chemical segregation and morphology evolution of γⲠprecipitates in the DZ483 superalloy was investigated. It was found that the application of the AMF during heat treatment significantly reduced chemical segregation, increased the mean particle size and accelerated morphology transition. These phenomena could be attributed to the enhanced diffusivity of alloying elements in the AMF, which was proved by diffusion experiments.
