Abstract
Silica particles were prepared from rice husk which were functionalized with silane, free of fluorine tends to show superhydrophobic behaviour. Bouncing behaviour of the prepared particles was studied. Rice leaf shows anisotropic superhydrophobicityinterestingly, the silica extracted from rice husk after functionalization also reflects superhydrophobicity. Thus, the alpha and omega of rice plant shows superhydrophobicity.287
