Abstract
â¢A novel iridium porphyrin was synthesized.â¢It is proposed the stabilization of the porphyrin sphere with axial ligands.â¢Confirmation of iridium complex stability by spectroscopic techniques.
The novel iridium-pentafluorophenyl porphyrin complex (TPFPPIrCl(CO)) was successfully synthesized by chemical reaction with the iridium (I) metal precursor [Ir(COD)Cl]2. The final complex was identified linked to the axial Cl and CO ligands by UV-Visible, 1H, 13C NMR spectroscopy as well the 1H/13C correlated techniques and by mass spectrometry.
