Abstract
In this paper reveals a novel greener strategy of zinc oxide nanocrystals (ZnO NCs) synthesis, which was developed via Punica granatum extract in the presence of ionic liquid (IL). Depending on the organization of IL network, the prepared ZnO nanostructures exhibit good hexagonal and sheet-like morphologies. The crystallization, morphology and chemical composition of synthesized ZnO NCs were characterized by XRD, FTIR, UV-Visible, DLS, SEM and EDS analyses. The morphologically improved ZnO NCs are exhibit very good antibacterial activity against the gram-negative (E. coli) bacterium.
