Abstract
Electrocaloric effect (ECE) of Ba0.67Sr0.33TiO3 (BST) and Mn + Y co-doped BST (BSTMY) ceramics prepared using citrate-nitrate combustion derived powders was investigated. The densification and dielectric strength can be improved by Mn + Y co-doping and citrate-nitrate combustion processes. The maximum electrocaloric temperature change (ΔT) in BSTMY is much larger than that in BST. Large ΔT of 2.63 K and electrocaloric strength of 0.0239 K cm kV−1 are obtained in BSTMY ceramic at room temperature.
