Abstract
Series structure of ZnO/MWCNTs nanocomposites were synthesized via a facile self-assembly method and applied as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. ZnO nanoparticles with the size of ∼40 nm were in-situ grown and uniformly anchored on the external surface of MWCNTs. Series structure and MWCNTs help ZnO exhibit an enhanced cycling stability, with the first charge capacity of 802 mAh g−1 and 437 mAh g−1 after 100 cycles at a current density of 100 mA g−1. Furthermore, the nanocomposite shows impressive performance at higher current density. It maintains a charge capacity of over 276 mAh g−1 even at a current density of 1600 mA g−1 after cycles.
