Abstract
A NiS-H3Mo12O40P (PMo12) composite counter electrode was successfully fabricated by periodic potential reversal method. Up to now, it is the first time that NiS-PMo12 composite counter electrode was fabricated and was used in dye-sensitized solar cells. The scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy were applied to study the morphology and component. The cyclic voltammetry and Tafel polarization measurement results show that the electrocatalytic ability for I3− reduction of the composite counter electrode is comparable to that of a Pt counter electrode. The enhanced efficiency is benefit from the high electrocatalytic activity and electron mobility of the PMo12. In addition, the composite counter electrode possess low cost.
