Abstract
Al/Ti/Al explosively welded clads were examined by scanning electron microscope in order to analyze the influence of annealing process on the development of the TiAl3 intermetallic phase at both interfaces. Significant differences in both mechanism of growth and growth velocity was revealed comparing both interfaces. It was evidenced that the location of the interface plays a crucial role when the kinetics studies are concerned.
