Abstract
Ni-doped CeO2@NiO heterostructures were designed and facilely prepared with NiO nanosheets rooting into Ni-CeO2 porous microspheres. NiSO4 was found to be crucial for the self-assembly of Ni-doped CeO2 porous microspheres. The growth mode of NiO nanosheets rooting into CeO2 microspheres ensured not only intimate contact between CeO2 and NiO for facile O2 and CO mobility but also high structure stability of Ni-doped CeO2@NiO microspheres. The as-obtained Ni-doped CeO2@NiO heterostructures exhibited enhanced performance for catalytic CO oxidation. Cycling tests showed their good reproducibility and stability. The enhancement should be attributed to synergistic effects between Ni-CeO2 and NiO as well as the more exposed active sites on NiO nanosheets and Ni-CeO2.
