Abstract
Embedded silver nanoparticles were produced in KTP single crystal by 200Â keV Ag+ ion implantation at fluence of 5Â ÃÂ 1016Â ions/cm2. The shape, size and spatial distribution of the formed silver nanoparticles were revealed by transmission electronic microscope (TEM) images. The embedded sphere silver nanoparticles with average diameters of 9.9Â nm were along the projected range of Ag+ ions, located at the depth between 35Â nm and 80Â nm from the surface. Both the measured and calculated absorption spectra of silver nanoparticles dispersed in KTP crystal indicate that the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) absorption peak was at â¼459Â nm.
