Abstract
Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZ) solid electrolyte with cubic garnet-like structure was prepared with the addition of Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 (LAS) system glass via solid state reaction. The effects of the amount of LAS glass on the crystalline phase, microstructure, relative density and ionic conductivities were studied. The results suggest that the addition of LAS glass could stabilize the cubic phase effectively and act as fluxing agent. The relative density and ionic conductivities first increased and then decreased with the increasing LAS glass content. The relative density and lithium ion conductivity of the LLZ ceramic with 3 wt.% LAS glass sintered at 1150 °C for 15 h reached a maximum value of 97.0% and 4.26 Ã 10â4 S/cm, respectively.
