Abstract
The novel ultrathin W18O49 nanowires entwined Si nanoparticles are developed through a simple modification and solvothermal process. The uniform intertwists of ultrathin nanowires on Si nanoparticle surface can play an effective role in sustaining large lithiation/delithiation strain. The composite electrode with the appropriate Si/W18O49 ratio exhibits much improved electrochemical performance, which provides a facile and useful strategy to design a novel Si-based composite electrode.
