Reusable chromium oxide coating with lubricating behavior from 25 to 1000 °C due to a self-assembled mesh-like surface structure

Based on single-phase chromium oxide coating, we realized a mesh-like heave structure self-assembled on chromium oxide coating surface by air annealing. The annealed coating can maintain the excellent reusable self-adaptive lubrication in wide temperature range because of its self-assembled surface structure. Moreover, the mesh-like heave structure also possesses the self-healing ability at high temperature.438
