Abstract
- Atomic layer deposition can be successfully used in aerospace applications.
- TiO2, ZnO and Ti-Zn mixed oxide are selected as coatings for Al ESAIL tethers.
- Morphological, optical and electrochemical characterizations are performed.
- Corrosion resistance is improved by using TiO2 and Ti-Zn in dark and UV light.
- Thin layers deposited by ALD act as anti-reflective coatings on ESAIL tethers.
