Abstract
SiO2f/SiO2 composites were fabricated by sol-gel method, and then the effects of high-temperature (1000-1400 °C) annealing on the microstructure and mechanical property were discussed and compared. The results showed that the composites underwent obvious structural changes after high-temperature annealing. High-temperature annealing markedly affected the mechanical property that decreased with increasing temperature. When the annealing temperature reached 1400 °C, SiO2f/SiO2 composites almost failed.
