Abstract
In this paper, a novel machining process for machining CFRP is proposed. The tool oscillates in a small angle at a high frequency. This cutting motion is superimposed by a feed motion in the tool's axial direction. The tools are hollow drills equipped with an abrasive body. In the experiments, different tool designs as well as different feed rates of this short amplitude torsion pendulum drilling are examined.
