Abstract
This scientific article presents a methodological approach for the study of process parameters for the pure water jet machining of unidirectional carbon fiber fabrics. To achieve an optimum cutting result, matrix experiments based on design of experiments approach were conducted. The influence of the parameters were calculated by using the analysis of means method. Thereafter, the effects were quantified by using the analysis of variance method. Improved machine parameters, in particular nozzle distance, forward speed and water pressure have been determined for commercially used unidirectional carbon fiber textiles.
