Abstract
The economic benefits of renewable energy (RE) producers under Germany's current legislative conditions (EEG 2014) have been investigated for two cases of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The energy demand of the case SMEs is very distinct in volume, type, and profile. With the aid of a simulation, direct consumption of expected RE generation and resulting energy exchange with the grid has been calculated. The results have been analyzed under an economical viewpoint using economic indicators and the LCCA (life-cycle cost analysis) method. For the two cases, respective economically attractive scenarios are presented with their indicator values and used combination and design of the elements of the particular decentralized renewable energy system.
