Abstract
A search for the CP-violating strong decays ηâÏ+Ïâ and ηâ²(958)âÏ+Ïâ has been performed using approximately 2.5Ã107 events of each of the decays D+âÏ+Ï+Ïâ and Ds+âÏ+Ï+Ïâ, recorded by the LHCb experiment. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3.0âfbâ1 of pp collision data recorded during LHC Run 1 and 0.3âfbâ1 recorded in Run 2. No evidence is seen for D(s)+âÏ+η(â²) with η(â²)âÏ+Ïâ, and upper limits at 90% confidence level are set on the branching fractions, B(ηâÏ+Ïâ)<1.6Ã10â5 and B(ηâ²âÏ+Ïâ)<1.8Ã10â5. The limit for the η decay is comparable with the existing one, while that for the ηⲠis a factor of three smaller than the previous limit.
