Abstract
Endometriosis is the second most prevalent disease for women who are capable of childbearing. The endometrium is normally located within the cavum uteri. If the endometrium is proliferated, the endometrium settles outside the uterine cavity. In most cases this leads to severe pelvic pain, menstrual problems, and pain during sexual intercourse. Due to the non-physiologically located centre of inflammation symptoms can also occur in the surrounding organs. This article gives a summery of possible osteopathic approaches including a case study.
