Abstract
This scenario describes an ASA 2 patient admitted to the day surgery unit for an elective colonoscopy under general anaesthesia. The patient has had bowel preparation, but he has not got the required preoperative anaesthetic consultation. How do you proceed? We discuss specific concerns and the approaches to take in this situation.
