Abstract
Epidural analgesia is one of the cornerstones of the management of major abdominal or thoracic surgery. In addition to its role in dynamic analgesia more important than PCA morphine, it induces many properties that concur to accelerate postoperative rehabilitation. There are several alternative locoregional analgesia techniques, depending on the type of surgery but which to date cannot match.
