Abstract
Space flights to Mars are planned around 2030. Members will be isolated in an extreme environment, without any supplying available. In the event of an on-board accident or acute pathology, providing anesthesia, intensive care and surgical procedures will be possible, under the condition of an accurate knowledge of microgravity's induced physiology. The crew physician will also have to deal with psychological and logistical issues, which could impair the quality and management of care. This literature review, based on spatial medicine, aims to provide on-board anesthesia and intensive care procedures.
