Abstract
- Statin-associated muscle symptoms (SAMS) are commonly encountered.
- Strategies are rechallenge, switch, nondaily statin dosing, or nonstatins.
- Tolerability of each of these strategies is over 60%; efficacy is variable.
- Several limitations are still encountered in the management of patients with SAMS.
- Ultimately, patient involvement determines which strategy is most acceptable.
