Phasic activity during non REM sleep

•Intrusion of REM phasic activity into NREM sleep was observed in a RBD patient.•This case suggests that phasic motor activity may be actively blocked in NREM sleep.•Jerky and complex behaviors occurred without cortical desynchronization on scalp EEG.•This phenotype may represent an intermedium stage between RBD and status dissociatus.
