Abstract
The author reviews her clinical experience and theoretical positions relating to psychotherapy for demented subjects. In the first part, she recalls the baseline stance of enduring subjectivity, psychic life and utterances, considers the theoretical tools available to help apprehend care, and sets out her personal conceptions. These different points are illustrated in the second part of the article by a clinical vignette.
