Abstract
The encounter with the demented patient often leads us to forget what is essential: the patient continues to experience a knowledge about relationships and death. In this encounter with the demented patient, it is the job of every protagonist to resist the temptation to speak for this patient and find ways to hear what he has still to say, until the end.
