Répertoire des outils éducatifs pour améliorer l'observance thérapeutique et le contrôle de l'asthme de l'enfant

RésuméL'éducation thérapeutique a démontré son efficacité dans la prise en charge de l'asthme de l'adulte et de l'enfant. Chez l'enfant asthmatique, la démarche éducative doit être ludique et interactive. Elle est facilitée par l'utilisation d'outils qui doivent être adaptés à l'âge de l'enfant, à l'objectif et au contexte éducatif. L'objectif principal de cette étude était d'identifier les outils éducatifs disponibles pour améliorer l'observance thérapeutique et le contrôle de l'asthme de l'enfant. Une recherche documentaire en anglais et français a été effectuée en utilisant les moteurs de recherche, Pubmed, EM Consulte, encyclopédie médico-chirurgicale, revues Elsevier-Masson, Système universitaire de documentation, Google Scholar, Bibliothèque inter-universitaire de médecine, Haute Autorité de santé, Institut national de prévention et d'éducation pour la santé, asthme-allergie.org, ginasthma.org. Elle a permis d'identifier 28 outils dont 16 sont utilisables en consultation. Les outils peuvent être classés en : outils de suivi et d'évaluation, outils d'acquisition des connaissances, outils multifonctions et outils éducatifs en ligne. L'intérêt et la place de ces différents outils sont discutés. Ce répertoire devrait faciliter l'accès aux outils éducatifs utilisables pendant la consultation chez l'enfant asthmatique et améliorer leur appropriation par les soignants.

Therapeutic education has been shown to be effective in the management of asthma in adults and children. In asthmatic children, such education should be presented in a playful and interactive way. This is facilitated by the use of various tools that must be adapted to the age of the children in question, to the aims sought, and to the educational context. The principal aim of this study was to identify the educational tools available to improve treatment compliance and control of asthma in children. A documentary search in English and French using search engines was carried out in PubMed, EM Consulte, the French Medical-Surgical Encyclopaedia, Elsevier-Masson journals, the French university documentation system, Google Scholar, the French Inter-Medical Faculties Library, the French Higher Health Authority, the French National Institute for Health Education and Prevention, asthme-allergie.org, and ginasthma.org. This search identified 28 tools, 16 of which may be used during consultations. These tools may be classified as follows: follow-up and evaluation tools, knowledge acquisition tools, multifunction tools, and online educational tools. We discuss the value and uses of these different tools. This list should facilitate access to the educational tools suitable for use during consultations for children with asthma, as well as enhancing their utilisation by caregivers.
