RésuméLa stadification initiale est un élément essentiel de la prise en charge du cancer bronchopulmonaire. Elle repose actuellement sur la 7e édition de la classification TNM. Des propositions ont récemment été formulées en vue de la 8e édition devant entrer en vigueur début 2017. Parmi ces propositions, on note notamment une augmentation de l'importance de la taille tumorale et l'apparition de sous-groupes pour les statuts N1 et N2 en fonction du nombre de ganglions envahis. Les patients oligo-métastatiques en extrathoracique sont désormais différenciés de ceux ayant plusieurs métastases extrathoraciques.
