Abstract
Prevention of this disease may be undertaken through the introduction of healthy lifestyles for the population as a whole, and individually for a specific patient. Several risk scales have been designed to estimate the absolute risk of mortality from cardiovascular disease. The European Society of Cardiology recommends the use of the SCORE system, where the risk charts vary according to the cardiovascular risk of different countries, which in Spain is low. It is important to know which objective values are to be obtained to control each risk factor. In the case of dyslipidaemia this will change in accordance to the individual risk of each person.
