Abstract
Surgery is the treatment of choice for localised disease. Adjuvant treatment with chemotherapy has shown benefits for survival in Stage III. Stage IV patients have options for a cure if the metastases can be resected, with a near 50% survival rate at 5 years. Combinations of chemotherapy and biological drugs are used for managing metastatic disease (stage IV).
