Abstract
The diagnosis involves a complete medical history and some laboratory tests; peripheral blood smear is essential and other tests, as flow cytometry, can be also used to classify lymphocytosis (clonal or polyclonal). Once the cause is established, treatment and prognosis are those of the primary cause or clonal lymphoid blood disorder.
