Abstract
Antiplatelet therapy in patients undergoing PTA/Stenting for PAD relies on low quality evidences. Most interventionists provide a loading dose of clopidogrel in addition to aspirin followed by dual antiplatelet therapy for a duration of 1 to 3Â months after PTA. The rational of this strategy relies mostly on the results of studies dedicated to coronary angioplasty. Ongoing trials with direct oral anticoagulants will perhaps provide new data in order to improve the practice.
