Abstract
The different strategies for preservation of fertility in young women with BRCA mutations, the ovary reserve, effect of chemotherapy on the ovarian reserve, embryo and oocyte cryopreservation, cryopreservation of ovarian tissue, ovarian suppression and the preimplantation genetic study are analyzed. It is concluded that women with mutations should be referred in a timely manner to a multidisciplinary team of fertility preservation for early reproductive counseling because of the high risk of breast cancer in addition to the use of gonadotoxic chemotherapy. BRCA1 mutation carriers appear to have less ovarian reserve than the non-carriers. The most widely used methods of preservation of fertility are controlled ovulation stimulation and cryopreservation of embryos and oocytes.
