Abstract
It is an honor for me to participate as guest editor of this edition of Revista Médica de ClÃnica Las Condes dedicated to Othology. I have chosen to write this introduction in a general form that is descriptive of the different subjects that are described in the scientific papers that follow. Due to the orientation of this journal -the scientific journal of higher circulation in Chile- the different subjects are described in such a way that they can be of interest to general practitioners and specialists alike.
