Abstract
Primary brain tumors require a multidisciplinary management. This article presents a therapy paradigm for the most frequent adult brain tumors, which goal is focused on the balance between survival and quality of life. Surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are analyzed, using World Health Organization (WHO) classification grades. Clinical status, location, size and functional risk are considered in the treatment discussion. Techniques to protect the brain during treatment are specially considered.
