Abstract
Thus, the choice of treatment is complex, considering the primary, the number of metastases and affected sites. Radiation therapy has long been the choice for patients who are not candidates for surgery, and advances are expected to reduce especially cognitive toxicity. The genomic knowledge of metastasis to the brain and the presence of target therapies and modified immunotherapies penetrating the blood-brain barrier have been key, it is hoped in the future to have more studies of combinations of radiotherapy treatments with target and immunotherapy therapies.
